You did not choose Italy by accident. Something about its light, its slowness, its quiet sense of beauty kept calling you back. I photograph the people who answer that call — couples, families, individuals who decided their most important images would carry an Italian heartbeat.
My work is unhurried, observational, editorial. No forced poses, no theatrical setups. Just the country, the people, and the way the two meet.

From a villa in the Langhe to a private ceremony on Lake Como, your day deserves images that travel home with you and never lose their warmth. I work as an editorial documentarian present but invisible, attentive to the small Italian details that make your wedding unmistakably here.

A portrait, printed before you leave.
One hour. Black and white. A handful of frames you will keep for the rest of your life — printed on the day, in my Monferrato studio, on archival fine art paper.

ABOUT
I am Umberto.
I have spent more than a decade photographing weddings, families and intimate portraits in Italy, mostly in Piedmont — where I was born and where my studio still is. My approach is editorial and documentary. I look for the unrepeatable second between two staged ones.
I photograph in English and Italian. I work with planners, venues and directly with couples, many of them travelling to Italy for the first time. I keep my calendar deliberately small so each wedding receives the attention it deserves.
